The nose shows hints of crisp green apples, white pear and lingering pineapple with subtle oak notes. Rich and full with coated acidity and good depth of fruit. A characterful drinking experience.
4.5 stars (90) - Platter's South African Wine Guide 2019
A 37-year-old bush vine vineyard located in the Breedekloof. The grapes are grown on alluvial soils, using sustainable practices, by a passionate grower who shares our winemaking philosophy.
All the grapes are hand harvested and cooled down overnight in a temperature controlled cold room. Bunch sorting takes place in order to select only the best grapes. Fermentation takes place in French oak 2000 litre foudres, season barrels and a stainless steel tank. Each vessel resulted in a different expression of Chenin
Blanc, imparting a layered dimension to the wine. The wine was aged on its full lees nine months to add to the complexity and mouthfeel.
